A 74-Year Legacy at Risk

Since its founding in 1952, Palm Valley School (PVS) located on 34 acres in Rancho Mirage, CA, remains the only non-religious independent college prep school in the Coachella Valley. PVS is widely recognized as the top private school in the area, and is ranked in the top 10% of Best College Prep Private High Schools in America for 2026 by Niche.

For 74 years, Palm Valley School has been more than just a place of learning — it has been a second home, a safe haven, and a foundation for generations of children. This extraordinary school has quietly shaped the lives of countless families across the valley. It is where children find their confidence, discover their passions, and learn not just how to succeed but how to be kind, thoughtful, and strong.

There is nothing else like it here. Palm Valley School is a place where families from all backgrounds can come together, where every child is welcomed without boundaries, and where education is centered purely on growth, curiosity, and humanity.

We are facing an urgent moment. Like many private schools in the United States, PVS is dealing with serious headwinds and economic challenges as it works to secure its future for upcoming generations of students. The reality is many private schools are closing, and this could be the case for Palm Valley as well. This fundraiser is being organized by the incredible and dedicated PVS community, who love their school and are determined to ensure it continues to provide the best education possible for many years to come.

"Palm Valley isn't just a collection of buildings; it's a community that shapes the character of its students. We cannot let this legacy fade."
The bottom line is Palm Valley School needs us. As an accredited institution by the California Association of Independent Schools and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, as well as a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, PVS has built a strong reputation by emphasizing small class sizes, community service, a well-balanced comprehensive program spanning academics, athletics, the arts, and exemplary college counseling. For almost 8 decades, the school has been committed to nurturing a diverse community of students and inspires lifelong learning through a balanced and differentiated curriculum. The school prides itself on employing remarkable faculty and staff who care deeply about their students and are invested in their success.
As its mission states, Palm Valley School is an exceptional learning community that educates, nurtures, and challenges each student to achieve excellence and contribute to our global society. Through a clearly articulated set of values, the school strives to live its mission in all its programming and interactions. The PVS seven core values are: Individual Attention to Students; Inspiring, Passionate, and Innovative Teaching; Inquiry and Exploration; Academic, Artistic, and Athletic Growth; Trust, Respect, and Partnership; Diversity; and Responsibility to Self and Others.
